It all began on a sweltering evening in August, one of those New York nights when it’s too hot to stay inside and impossible to sleep even with the fan on at full speed.

A walk through the city that never sleeps, captivated by the lights and the slowly disappearing neons. Amongst the crowds and vibrant sounds we envisioned the beauty of these signs free from the hustle and bustle of nightlife. Isolating them, we imagined a quiet city of lonely neons, flickering and buzzing in the dark, like a drunk at the bar with age old stories to recollect.

We never could have imagined how these quiet images of New York's streets would soon become an eerie reality in 2020.
